Boots, lace and whatnot...

Yep, the trends knocked on my door, and after eyeing all those girls on our campus, I am wearing the following: suede boots, lace up boots and some lace...

I paired the suede boots with a checkered button down shirt and a lacey skirt... Plus a belt from Melrose... (I also tried same outfit with lace-ups... Just in case, does not look too bad either!)

Then I paired the lace-up boots (they make zippers in them now! easy shit!) with Mo's dress that I love so much and the one that shrank in the freaking washer.... Oh well... Now it's just shorter, so I better watch my ass size.

Today I could not stand the traffic and decided to chill in Santa Monica until it gets dark and all the freaking West Covina people get the hell out of LA... So I went to 3rd Street, of course (well, actually, to have a veggie burrito in La Salsa) and peeked into Forever 21... Maaaaan! They have tons of lace there... A sign that I better hide the skirt and only take it out in about a few months...

I actually love doing it.. I wait till the trend goes away and then wear it.. Let them think that it takes me years to "get the point" hehe... I don't care. But you see, if before it was not too bad, now I am among the young guns all the time. And believe me, that Santa Monica campus is basically Forever 21's walking catalogue... I can't wear most of my 21 stuff anymore... yet I still like it...

Same thing with Target - too popular... Argh. All my cheapo places are a taboo now! Gotta find new spots!
Too bad I dislike second hand... I mean, I dislike the feel of used clothing - if I don't know WHO it was used by - on my body...

I have new cargo pocket pants!

Delia's and I are again at it! :)

I forgot about the site indefinitely for a while, when my attention was captured by F21, H&M and AE... yet, I am back with my good ole friend...

These pants, although tight, are something great!

My mom sent me a pair of shoes...

I think they are or were popular in Russia this past season... The "summer boots" - well, in this case, booties..

And although I always ask her to not send me any clothing items from Russia (simply because I don't think stores in Russia carry anything of a combo "good quality+fair price" and I openly dislike most items I see in there....)....

[Offtop: It is, indeed, silly to buy anything clothing-wise in Moscow when one has access to the stores of Los Angeles, or any larger city of the Unites States for that matter. ]

So anyway, regardless of my request she stubbornly sends me some clothing sometimes - well, she is my mother all right! :) And surprisingly enough, I love these! Great magenta-or what is it - pink? - color, great feel, easy to wear.. Easy is what I need now on the campus!

I paired them with a UO skirt, a simple white tee and black netty leggings... Tried to find solid black ones in the pile of leggings but could not... and the sun was going down fast... These look not too shabby either.

And UPD - here they are with short denim shorts, long boy friend style jacket and loose locks...

My messy room...

.... hopefully is not an obstacle in these couple of pix...

I have an H&M skirt on, with dark tights and Zara booties... Plus a simple gray tee with tiny gray cardigan.. and yes, a touch of bright colour... Hair flower-pin...

I live in a very small room where I had to cram all of my existence in... And use somebody else's furniture as well! Don't know how long that will last - hopefully only for another year... and then I can breathe better... and avoid this horrible mess... (and furniture! bleh!)

I turned an eternity!

It was my birthday, and I was so soaped in studies that did not sit and quietly thought about any cool place to go. Well, money is tight too right now. So I could not afford a fun little trip by train or anything.

So I just went to Santa Barbara instead with my room mate. We had lunch at Montecito Inn (yummm great portobello mushroom sandwich!), then walked through the art fair, along the beach and finally had drinks at Blue Agave. This is what I was wearing.

I know I know, it was not much fun of a birthday! But then again, when not put on the spot - so to speak - I always manage to figure out something cool at some point, don't worry... I will get my back!

These pictures made me remember how this Norwegian guy in Moscow would be calling me Pippi Longstocking and saying that I am the prototype for the character. Well, she actually existed way before me... But I won't lie - I love Pippi and being associated with her is one of the biggest honors I could possibly wish for myself...

Jeggings?

Well, my room mate went to Denmark and brought me a bunch of great leggings from Copenhagen. And along with them this strange fruit - aka jeggings. Leggings that actually have back pockets and thus are destined to be worn as a pair of pants. No zipper, no button... Just elastic...

Well, I am rocking them! Danish girls do, and what am I, chopped liver?!! Here with Blowfish booties, Aero cardigan and simple gray tee... And the most adorable pet in the world, of course!

A couple more of my off shoulder dress pix...

Dull again.... Until I show up!

What a responsible task it is, if you ask me - to kill the drudgery day in and day out...

Well, somebody's gotta do it! GAP pants, some Italian shoes, AE "harry potter" jacket, as I call it... Simple white tee...

I love love love this little set.... Love the colors and love the shape... Love being the "japanese girl", with compromised proportions... In all the feature films, every time, I would be looking out for a character, a girl, with the most intricate, the most weird, the most mind boggling outfit or appearance. This is why I loved Almodovar's films so much - well, just because, along with the typically pretty (and boring, in my opinion) cast he would employ absolutely incredible types. I still can't forget the big nosed one from "Women on the verge of the nervous breakdown" (and if you love Almodovar as much as I do, you will know who I am talking about!)... Even the well known now Penelope Cruz, in reality, is not exactly your typical pretty girl...

And as for clothes, that was number one mind-bending-inspiration-producing item... Any bizarre or non-ordinary combination or set... I would go nuts, drool all over the screen and keep the image in my mind for ever and ever... Funny, how just an item of clothing can be so inspiring...

Hence my love towards the modern Japanese street style, towards imperfection and .... beauty, for yes, it is beauty that I am after... Just like I would never tell anybody what to wear... for we all have different ideas of beauty...

Rainy day at the uni

Well, actually it is a college that I am going to (there is a difference between a college and a uni, college being just a two year degree establishment)... But I like the word uni...

It has been rainy today - no rain but partial drizzle and nasty no sun weather. Come on, for SoCal, it's unacceptable.

I decided to dissolve the drudgery with the red scarf... It fit the bill quite nice.

Baggy destroyed jeans from AE, belt Old Navy, shoes 9 West... Shirt is Gap... Scarf.. Possibly H&M...

Flowery skirt

Am I bombarding with posts? I am finally done with Math homework, and although I have to wake up at the crack of the dawn, I have to post another outfit I loved lately.

Since roses are a trend lately, in terms of small dresses and mini skirts, I am wearing this Forever 21 skirt and this stripey long sleeve.

New combo

So... Easy and breezy.. H&M dress, organic cotton and very flow-ey, reminds me of India (although I have never been there!), combines here with a short Forever 21 jacket I bought on sale.

Plus brown oxford type shoes I got during my recent trip to Italy, in Rome... They are surprisingly comfortable... Even for my pretentious feet.

I love the large and short/small combo, of a very ample freely flowing dress and very short yet long sleeve jacket (sleeves are always rolled up, I am not a fan of not rolled sleeves on jackets, really...)

New TEAL dress

When I was in Oceanside, a shopaholic in me could not help but sneak into this store called Closet on Mission avenue and snatch a most wonderful teal off-shoulder dress.

I have been after an off-shoulder dress for already a while, but did not see anything I liked in my price range.

This one was extra cheap and is pretty well made. And the color... goodness... the color! Gorgeous!
